Andrea brings more than 30 years of business experience acquired in a wide variety of leadership positions – from executive management to operations and support in both the private and public sector organizations.
She has extensive experience in organizational development and high-performance teams, business process re-engineering, business development and fund raising, project and change management, and institutional marketing and re-branding. She has served in executive positions in development and marketing at two nonprofit museums and was general manager of a privately held direct marketing company.
Andrea began her career in television news, and was an executive producer for ABC in Chicago and a founding producer at CNN, including leading a fund-raising effort for famine relief in Ethiopia and producing a documentary anchored by Oprah Winfrey.
As a Vice President of Business Development and Senior Consultant at The GBS Group, Andrea is responsible for business development and marketing, proposals, presentations, and exhibits. She participates in strategic planning and provides marketing and video production services to GBS and partner customers.
As Assistant Executive Director of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, she led all administrative services, marketing/PR, human resources, information systems, and finance and budget.
Andrea is a contributing author to books on change management, leadership, and reinventing government. She earned an MBA from the College of William and Mary and a BA from the University of Virginia. Andrea is also certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
